Welcome to Key Colony Beach – the Gem of the Florida Keys. Residents and guests enjoy an excellent quality of life.
The City would ask your help in maintaining that quality of life by noting the following rules and regulations. These
rules are city ordinances or state statutes and will be strictly enforced. Violators will be fined and must come into
immediate compliance. This document serves as formal notification of these regulations.

10-2,3 It shall be unlawful for any person to make or continue, or cause to be made or continued, any excessive
disturbing, unnecessary or unusually loud noise, or any noise which annoys, disturbs, injures or endangers the comfort,
repose, health, peace or safety of other persons within the city.                                                                            $500.00

9-11 The vacation rental maximum occupancy load is 1 person per 200 square feet gross floor area (excluding garages,
carports, screen rooms & storage areas) or 10 persons, whichever is less.
The average duplex capacity is four
people (children of all ages included)

Examples: 1400sq. ft. usable/rental space = 7 persons 900sq. ft. usable/rental space = 4 persons                       $500.00

17-1 City Street Speed Limit 25 mph.                                                                                                   Per Florida Statutes

5-1 All watercraft must operate at IDLE SPEED/NO WAKE landward of the buoys located off the Atlantic Ocean
and Vaca Cut shorelines and within all Key Colony Beach waterways.                                                                     $500.00

7- 12 Littering is prohibited on land or into the water. This includes yard waste.                                                     $250.00

7-5,6,7 Garbage must be in cans with lids or heavy ply refuse bag securely tied or sealed. Refuse bags shall not be
placed for collection before 4 pm on day preceding collection. Garbage cans shall not be placed out for collection
before noon on day preceding collection and shall be removed from street to proper location within 24 hours. If
not done, city personnel will place in proper location for a service fee each time.                                                      $25.00

4-6,10 Animals at large prohibited–all animals must be leashed. Animals not permitted to defecate on other than pet
owner’s property without immediate removal of defecation.                                                                           $25 / $15.00

5-80/6-59 Only one recreational vehicle, boat, utility, personal watercraft trailer or trailer of any type may be
parked within the property boundaries per dwelling unit. (Temporary boat trailer parking
MAY BE
available in the designated area off 8th Street for a fee paid at City Hall.)                                                     $25.00 per day

55 No vehicle or trailer may be parked on vacant lot(s) except by the property owner of that lot.                         $25.00

101-55 Boat trailers, motorhomes, recreational vehicles, commercial vehicles, etc., may not extend over or be
parked on any right-of-way. Right-of-way is 25ft. from the center line of the road (see survey stakes).                   $25.00

55 No vehicles, motorhomes, trailers, or campers may be used as a residence even for one night.                         $100.00


                                                                                                                      Live-aboards prohibited even for one night.
                                                                                                                                            
                                                                                                                                            Rafting of vessels prohibited.

Statute The overall boat length of any boat not to exceed the waterfront property lines available with the house.
Overall boat length of a boat includes outboard motor in the tilt up position and pulpit and anchor.                       $100.00

Diving and snorkeling prohibited 4 days prior to opening of mini-season until 10 days after opening of commercial season
in navigable canals, marinas and within 300 feet of shoreline.                                                                                 $500.00

Parking prohibited on 1st through 5th Streets and East Ocean Drive except with property owner permission.
